First European deployment of DTPR launches

The Angers Loire Metropolitan Region in France starts piloting the Digital Trust for Places and Routines (DTPR) standard
We’re excited to announce the launch of the first European deployment of Digital Trust for Places and Routines (DTPR) in the Angers Loire Metropolitan Region, France, as part of the 2022 DTPR City Cohort. The City Cohort is a group of four municipalities testing the DTPR standard to help residents understand and interact with smart technologies installed in their communities.
In collaboration with Helpful Places and CIVITEO, the Angers Loire Metropolitan Region is piloting DTPR as part of its Intelligent Territory project. Between November 2022 and March 2023, Angers’ Place de la Fraternité will have DTPR signage installed for multiple digital technologies in that public square, such as sensors for monitoring garbage bin levels and real-time parking capacity.
The signs will let visitors know what data the technology is collecting, who is collecting it, and what the data is being used for — as well as allowing people to ask questions and share feedback by scanning a QR code. Researchers from the University of Angers’ UserLab will also be conducting on-site surveys to gather input from users of the space about the project, including the technologies and the DTPR system.
For more information about the Angers Loire Metropolitan Region’s DTPR pilot, see the press release below or the Metropolitan Region’s website (both in French).
