This year brought substantial improvements to help organizations implement and maintain comprehensive transparency programs that leverage the DTPR open-source standard.
We've completely reimagined our public-facing transparency portal with a focus on visual appeal and clarity.
Organizations can now fully customize the portal's appearance with their preferred fonts and colors, and our multilingual support ensures organizations can effectively communicate with their communities in any language.
In addition, we have added the ability to deploy on custom domains which strengthens public trust by using familiar web addresses of the organizations using the Platform.

Recognizing that physical signage with QR codes is crucial for DTPR implementation, we've launched a dedicated short code and QR code service.
Each Helpful Places Platform customer receives a branded short URL (such as placename.dtpr.net) and can generate unlimited short codes and QR codes linking to their transparency portal pages. This seamless system simplifies the creation of both physical signage and digital outreach materials while making it easier to measure usage and analytics on how the information is being used by members of the community.
In 2024, we made the first steps towards developing a comprehensive technology inventory tool. This foundational work sets the stage for exciting capabilities coming in 2025, including enhanced governance tools for data collection sensors and AI deployments. Stay tuned for announcements about these powerful new features.
At the end of 2024, we released a set of updated open-source resources to make the open-source Digital Trust for Places and Routines (DTPR) standard even easier to implement, including:
The Guide to the DTPR Standard is designed to assist those looking to deploy the standard by explaining how the DTPR works, the underlying research and rationale for its design, and providing specific guidance for its implementation.
We’ve updated the DTPR repository in GitHub to make it easier to use, featuring the standard’s taxonomy and associated icons for download, and guides to implementation.
To ensure the evolution of the standard is the result of research-backed and open decision-making that includes stakeholders working with the standard, we’ve formed a DTPR Community of Practice Council. The Council will support efforts to steward DTPR and its adoption on a global scale
